Positions for Women In War and International Politics

EVENTS AND SOCIAL OFFICERS: 3 Positions
Role: Help organise and create events. This involves all stages of event planning, including but not limited to:
•    Arranging the day and time for the events planned
•    Picking a suitable venue and ensuring the booking via the War Studies department
•    Monitoring RSVPs
•    Setting up the room
•    Arranging for and coordinating with speakers or guests, if applicable
•    Liaising with relevant societies, institutes and departments.
•    Promoting the event via social media with the help of the social media officers
•    Recruiting those interested in particular events to help with different tasks

COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICERS: 3 Positions
Role: To enhance the presence of WIWIP throughout university and outside. This will involve communication by various means, including but not limited to:
•    Updating Facebook, the WIWIP website and LinkedIn
•    Monitoring and responding to e-mails
•    Promoting events
•    Communicating with Departmental representatives and external liaisons to increase the presence of WIWIP in other departments and societies through newsletters, flyers, etc.
•    Managing EventBrite sign ups where applicable

FUNDRAISING OFFICERS: 3 Positions
Role: To help raise funds for the network for its activities. Including but not limited to:
•    Drafting grant applications
•    Merchandising
•    Organising sponsorship

GRAPHICS DESIGN OFFICER: 1 Position
Role: The immediate role would be to design a WIWIP logo but the role could also be expanded to include:
•    Designing posters for events
•    Designing flyers for publicity in various departmental bulletin boards
Note: Prior knowledge and expertise with Photoshop and graphic designing is preferable but not mandatory.

DEPARTMENTAL OFFICERS
Role: To involve as many students and staff from various departments in the network. This will involve letting people know about events and opportunities and promoting WIWIP by means including but not limited to:
•    Getting WIWIP events into your department bulletin or newsletter
•    Involving the department’s alumni network to establish contact with relevant groups or persons
•    Organise events involving staff from your department or researchers in your field
•    Promoting WIWIP events to the students of your department

EXTERNAL LIAISON OFFICERS
Role: To help create links between WIWIP and other societies at KCL and in other universities. This would involve:
•    Promoting our events and tapping into the member base of other societies
•    Co-hosting events, where applicable
•    Organising to attend events at other universities, where applicable
•    Encouraging societies and students from other universities to post articles, blogs, etc. on our website
